Help Your 3yo Sleep Alone

Dear Miss Faith, My daughter is 3.5 and very independent during the day, but very clingy/needy at night.  She falls asleep fine, but comes into our room in the middle of the night and nobody gets much sleep after that.  My husband and I have "solved" this by having one of us sleeping in her room each night, but we're ready to be done with this and feel that she could be ready, … [Read more...]

Next Tele-Class Starts Jan 25th

The last Tele-Class has just ended and it was powerful!  Here's what one participant shared in her feedback: "Thank you so much for this wonderful class! The truth is I couldn't really afford the course, but something told me this might be just what was needed to get me out of a sort of negative rut with my toddler. I was becoming so frustrated with her challenging behavior … [Read more...]

19 Month Old Hits Dad!

Dear Miss Faith Recently our daughter has been hitting dad, blowing raspberries at him, and generally being disrespectful.  It seems totally random; she's often no upset and sometimes even laughs when she does it.  He reprimands her but it doesn't seem to make a difference, and it's really starting to upset my husband.  What do you think could be going on? Dear Mama, When … [Read more...]

Just a Few Spots Left in Tele-Class

The start of the Tele-Class is a week away, and it looks like it's going to sell out!  So if you've been meaning to sign up but haven't gotten around to it, don't wait or it may be too late (the next one won't be till February).  I keep the class limited to about 20 people so that everyone can get all of their questions answered every week, and so that participants can really … [Read more...]

Afternoon Schedule for Preschoolers

Dear Miss Faith, My 4yo twins have recently started preschool and they come home very tired each day.  Do you have some suggestions for a peaceful afternoon routine that would help us reconnect and give them some down time?  I have a 7-month-old as well so I can’t be with them every moment.  I’m trying to avoid TV and electronics. Dear Mama, School is generally so exciting … [Read more...]

Meet Me in Denver on Oct 4th!

I'm pleased to support Megan Streit Wilson in her kickstarter campaign to raise money for the production of a Lock-On Table Tray (pictured).   I have donated money to her campaign, and I'll be helping out at her event in Denver on October 4th.  More on that in a minute.  First, why I support this:  I have found that including children at the table as young as possible, rather … [Read more...]

Sibling Interactions Between Kids & Crawlers

Dear Miss Faith, I have a 9 month old who has just started really crawling and getting all up in her older sister's business. My 2.5 year old has started being really possessive of toys. I try to keep the baby from grabbing things from her when I can, but short of putting baby in a playpen all day I’m not really sure what to do! Dear Mama, Sibling interactions can be a … [Read more...]

Toddlers Swearing

Dear Miss Faith, My son is 2.5 and has started using abusive language (swearing). I have tried a lot of things…I have scolded him for this, I have tried to explain very calmly that these are wrong and bad words, but still no progress. He is in a play-group and his teacher has also complained about this. Please help.   Dear Mama, It can be both frustrating and … [Read more...]
