Extra Video: Rhymes for Household Tasks

Three rhymes/songs for household tasks: laundry, dishwashing/table-wiping, and sweeping. Words are posted below the video (scroll down):

Laundry:

Two corners for you,

Two corners for me.

Clouds fly in the sky.

Butterflies fly up

Butterflies fly down

Wings together

Friends forever

Dishwashing/Table-wiping:

Let’s wash our dishes, wipe them clean

We’ll wash them till they’re shiny and clean (X2)

We’ll scrub-scrub here, we’ll scrub-scrub there.

Let’s wash our dishes, wipe them clean

We’ll wash them till they’re shiny and clean

Sweeping:

Old broom, sweep my floor

Old broom, sweep some more

Sweep along, sweep along, sweep along now

We’ll sweep all the dust and the dirt off the floor

Old broom, sweep my floor

Old broom sweep some more

I sweep and sweep all the live-long day

Gonna sweep all my troubles and my cares away

Old broom, sweep my floor

Old broom, sweep some more.

These are wonderful! My son was dancing around as he heard these 🙂

These make household works to sharing time with children. I have been trying to finish as fast as I can and back to play with children… Both children and adults can calm and enjoy the household work movements. Thank you for this post!!
